Editing processes


My manuscript is going through an initial editing process. At the moment I am reading it aloud to a friend to discuss it and ensure continuity, clarity and structural balance. Reading it this way is beneficial for many reasons, and leads me to follow up and research aspects within the story. For example, Cressida is struggling with her childhood wounds and her trauma is being triggered by both the appearance of her mother's sister and a new romance. Aside from incorporating the authenticity of my experiences, I am seeking out words of wisdom found on YouTube or Teds Talks.
